Police in Kamloops say a single-vehicle crash downtown last night was caused by a medical emergency behind the wheel.
RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police were called to the crash at Lorne Street and 7th Avenue at 10:30 p.m., where a van had driven off the road and clipped a hydro pole.
The female driver was unconscious and taken to hospital. Shelkie says the incident was caused by a medical emergency, but didn’t comment on the extent of the driver’s injuries.
Lorne Street was partially closed for about three hours after the crash.
