A big response to a fire on a Tk’emlúps property turned out to be less eventful than it could’ve been.
Kamloops Fire Rescue put out a fire in a camper which was vacant, at 730 Shuswap Road.
KFR Capt. Ken Hartt says five engines responded to the call at about 10 a.m., including a water tender truck because of a lack of fire hydrants in that area.
“The call came in as a structure fire, but as we were on route it came further information that it was just a travel trailer fire. Nobody inside the travel trailer, there is extensive damage. We’re unsure of the cause,” Hartt says.
The fire was contained to just the camper, and it created a light screen of smoke across Valleyview earlier this morning which lingered after the fire was put out.
