All the fish in Logan Lake are dead.
Chief Administrative Officer Randy Lambright says, a long and cold winter resulted in winter kill. Attributing it to the thickness of the ice, and the oxygen injection system failing.
“What that meant was that there was likely a significant kill of the resident trout. Working with our partners and the Lake Enhancement Working group determined and tried to turn a negative into a positive so we had an environmental loss but how can we recover from an economic perspective given that the lake is a key part of the community and our campground.”
Lambright says, the community is in the middle of a program to restock the lake.
