It’ll be back to school with new playgrounds for 51 schools in B.C, as part of a new playground fund announced by the provincial government today.
Summit Elementary in School District 73 made the list, with 90 thousand dollars coming to the Kamloops school.
Board Chair Meghan Wade says, it’s great to see some money make its way into the community.
“I’m absolutely thrilled for Summit Elementary, in getting money for their playground. And its nice to see that the commitments that this government has made to help out schools and PACs in support of playgrounds is coming through, and some of that money is finding its way into our district. And great congratulations to Summit.”
This funding is part of a new, ongoing Playground Equipment Program that will provide up to $5 million each year to school districts to buy new or replacement playground equipment.
