The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a new blaze near Clearwater.
Fire Information Officer Brenna Ward says the fire is burning 20 kilometres east of Clearwater.
“The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a fire that started buring overnight last night due to lightning. It is burning just through timber at the moment. It is not threatening any communities but it is highly visible from highway 5. At the moment it is estimated to be one or two hectares and is burning rank three.”
Ward says helicopter is busy bucketing the fire and three firefighters are also battling the flames with more en route.
She says air tankers have also just been dispatched.
