As a busy Kamloops clinic has closed down, the boss at Interior Health says many people here are seeking a family doctor.
The CEO of IH Susan Brown says more than 9,000 people in Kamloops have put their name on the 8-1-1 list in the past year to seek a family doctor.
This comes as the Summit Medical Clinic shut down on Saturday.
“The closure of Summit is disappointing, and we will continue to strive to make sure people in this community do have good access to primary care,” Brown says.
Staff at the Summit walk-in clinic say it served more than 10,000 patients each year.
