UPDATE: 12:50 PM
Kamloops RCMP say both shooting victims from this morning have died.
At this time police don’t have any information to link the two shootings, but they’re both being classified as homicides.
“Currently, we have numerous police resources, both uniform and plain clothes officers investigating both incidents,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
“Given that both shootings happened within two hours of each other and in public places, we are asking the public to remain vigilant and mindful of any suspicious activity they may see in the community and report it to police.”
The first shooting was at the Super 8 Motel in Valleyview, which was reported at 6:50 AM. The second happened two hours later at the Comfort Inn just off Rogers Way.
Police still have not identified the victims, but they did say that both men were found outside the hotels.
There are still no arrests that have been made.
A news conference will be held at 2:00 PM tomorrow, where police expect to have further information.

Kamloops RCMP are dealing with two different shooting situations in the city.
Corporal Jodie Shelkie says the first unfolded early this morning in Valleyview.
“This morning at around 6:50am Kamloops RCMP were called to the Super 8 Hotel in Valleyview for a man lying on the ground. It appeared the man had been shot.”
Shelkie says the second shooting also happened at a hotel a few hours later this time up the hill on Rogers Way.
“Then at 8:50am we were called to the Comfort Inn and Suites on Rogers Way for another male who appears to have been shot.”
She says both men are at Royal Inland Hospital, which is under restricted access at the moment.
Shelkie says it is unknown if the two situations are connected.
She also wouldn’t comment when asked if this is some kind of gang activity
