Restoration at one of TRU’s buildings after a water main break are proving to be costly.
Spokesperson Juli Holloway says repairs to the Open Learning Building will cost $700,000.
“Total damage to the building would be estimated at about $350,000 right now, and then also there was, in the OL building itself, our information technology department is housed. So there was significant equipment damage, non-recoverable equipment including computers, printers and other accessories and hardware of that nature.
The building’s first floor had to be gutted after it was flooded on January 11th. Holloway says repairs will be done by the end of next week.
Holloway says staff affected on the first floor were relocated and says the disruption to operations was minimal.
