A cement truck driver is dead after he crashed his truck into a ditch along Heffley Louis Creek Road this morning.
Crews were called to the area about two kilometres east of Lake Bay Road around 8:36 a.m.
Cooper says crews found the cement truck in the ditch and on its roof when they got there.
“On arrival, just past Lake Bay road, the patient was trapped and the ambulance couldn’t access the patient,” he said. “So we extricated the patient and brought him up to the road and he was declared deceased on scene.”
Cooper says there is no word on what caused the crash.
“It was tough, climbing down a ditch, getting the patient extricated using the spreaders and cutters and then bringing the patient back up,” Cooper added. “It’s challenge, it was a tight little spot there.”
The RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating.
