In an effort to reduce the number of thefts from motor vehicles in Kamloops, the RCMP will be releasing a community map each week.
There were 58 thefts from July 1 until the 7th, and the map will show residents where the crimes are happening in Kamloops.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police are asking people to report any and all suspicious activity.
“We’ve had some weeks where it’s been in the high 70’s so it’s a real problem and it’s a problem that can be solved if people lock their vehicles and take all of their valuables out of their vehicles.”
Over the past week, a number of thefts were at Riverside Park, and also near Collingwood Drive in Westsyde, and around the Tranquille Corridor.
