The NDP candidate for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo riding has stepped down.
Gina Myhill-Jones, a resident of 100 Mile House, was nominated in late May but will no longer be the NDP candidate for this fall’s federal election, according to riding president Bill Sundhu.
“We are grateful to Gina for the work she has undertaken in the riding. Gina will continue to work with the campaign to elect an NDP candidate here,” Sundhu says.
The NDP riding is in the process of searching for a new candidate.
In a post on her Facebook page, Myhill-Jones says she’s not able to “give the 110 per cent that the role of candidate requires,” and says she’s paving the way for someone who can.
“I still stand firm with Jagmeet (Singh) and the NDP, fighting for Canadians and a prosperous new Canada,” Myhill-Jones says.
