A heads up for drivers in Kamloops – there will be nightly closures on the Red Bridge for routine inspections starting next week.

The inspections are scheduled to take place between 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., from October 7 and 11, October 13 and 18, and October 20 and 25.

“These closures are required so crews can conduct a comprehensive inspection of the structure,” says a statement from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. “The inspection is part of the Ministry’s program to continually assess the condition of the bridge and keep it in good operating condition.”

Drivers can detour on Highway 5 when the Red Bridge is closed.
