Environment Canada is warning about the potential for freezing rain on mountain passes in the Kamloops area overnight tonight.
A special weather statement is in effect for the southern Interior including the Coquihalla, the Okanagan Connector, the Fraser Canyon and the southern Cariboo.
“Flurries are expected tonight and Saturday morning. The warm air aloft combined with near or below-zero temperatures at the surface will result in a risk of freezing rain,” the statement reads, adding that the risk of freezing rain will subside by Saturday afternoon.
Forecasters ask drivers and pedestrians to be prepared for potentially slippery conditions.
