There’s no timeline for when the Canadian Mental Health Association branch in Kamloops will hire a new executive director after the previous boss was let go amid an investigation.
The head of the CMHA in B.C., Jonny Morris, says it’s not up to him.
“I mean, it’s really important to remember that’s a decision of the board. The board’s going to be around tomorrow… And it’s a really important that the branch here is an independent, autonomous organization, and they’ll come to make those decisions in their own time.”
The previous person in that role, Christa Mullaly, was suspended with pay in September, but has now been let go.
It’s unclear exactly when she was let go and why.
“I wouldn’t be able to comment on that question,” Morris told NL News when asked.
Mullaly was suspended nine days after an investigation started into the local CMHA branch.
She was unable to be reached on her cell phone when NL News reached out today, but her voicemail still claimed she is the executive director of the branch.
