It’s the final week of operations for the Swiss Chalet in Kamloops.
The restaurant on Hillside Drive, near Aberdeen Mall, will close at the end of the day on Feb. 7, putting 27 people out of work.
A spokesperson tells Radio NL that the owner, who is based out of Kelowna, has decided to give the lease up instead of carrying on the operation, citing commuting time and financial issues.
“Our staff and managers would like to give a great big “Thank You” to our regular guests and school PAC’s for their support over the years,” said an email from the restaurant. “We very much appreciate their patronage.”
Management says the Harvey’s take-out restaurant at the same location, will also close on Friday.
Both chain restaurants are part of the Recipe Unlimited group, a Toronto-based company that operates brands including The Keg, Eastside Mario’s, Milestones, and Montana’s.
Milestones and Montana’s in Kamloops permanently closed down in May 2019, The Keg closed down in 2016, while Eastside Mario’s closed down in Feb. 2013.
