The Canadian government is restricting anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 from entering the country.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that ban includes Canadian residents currently out of country who are experiencing symptoms.
“I know this news will spark concerns among Canadians travelling abroad. I want to assure you that our government will not leave you unsupported… Canadian travellers will be able to get financial assistance to help them with the costs of returning home, or temporarily cover their basic needs while they wait to come back to Canada.”
Trudeau has also announced a ban on all foreign residents from entering the country, with exceptions for residents of the United States.
And he says starting Wednesday, all international flights will be limited to airports in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.
