The BC Wildfire Service has been called to a wildfire burning just outside of Chase.
The fire is within the boundaries of the Adams Lake Indian Band, and smoke is highly visible in the area and from the Trans-Canada Highway.
“We do have seven BCWS personnel that are responding and they’re working in conjunction with the Adams Lake Fire Department on site. It’s estimated to about two hectares in size at this time.”
Reports say strong winds are blowing in the area, and Macdonald says conditions are quickly drying out at the valley bottom in the Kamloops area.
