The CF Snowbirds graced the skies in the Kamloops area for a few minutes on Saturday afternoon, as part of Operation Inspiration.
The aircraft took off from Rocky Mountain House in Alberta, and flew over Revelstoke, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, and Chase before landing at Kamloops Airport shortly after 2 p.m.
“Just seeing all of these people out in their backyards waving, it’s just fantastic and the feedback we’ve had on social media has been great as well, so thank you to everyone for that,” Captain Steve McKeen said on the NL Morning News on Friday.
When their scheduled summer appearances were cancelled because of COVID-19, the Snowbirds launched a cross-country tour on May 2, It began in Nova Scotia and made it way out west.
The rest of the B.C. schedule has not been released, but the Snowbirds are expected to make it to Vancouver Island this weekend.
