Mounties are reporting a busy night on the streets of Kamloops, saying four people were arrested in separate incidents.
Sgt. Jeff Bingley says three arrests happened during traffic stops.
The first was downtown, where police seized a replica gun, a cattle prod, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Bingley says the car was impounded and other items were seized as well, and he says the man in the vehicle also had two outstanding arrest warrants and was arrested at the scene.
In another traffic stop on Tranquille Road, a man was arrested for trafficking drugs, and Bingley says police found two loaded shotguns, knives, body armour, drugs and nearly $3,000 cash when they searched his vehicle.
A third traffic stop, at a location police did not say, led to a man being arrested and a “large quantity” of drugs and more than $3,600 cash being seized from his vehicle.
In a fourth incident, a man was arrested on Seymour Street while driving a truck that had been reported stolen from 100 Mile House.
The identity of each person has not been released as charges have not yet been laid in any incident.
Bingley called it a “well deserved night in jail” for the offenders.
