Power is expected to be out for 56 BC Hydro customers in Lafarge until 3 p.m. today, after a semi-truck took out power poles in the area.
Kamloops RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says at about 8 a.m., a semi-truck driver was lost on Shuswap Road, and crossed the Lafarge Bridge before hitting three power poles.
She says the driver didn’t realize he had hit the poles and kept going.
“However, employees at Fountain Tire got a description of the semi truck which they gave to one our police officers when they arrived on scene. Our officers then got in contact with CVSE, who stopped the semi a short distance away. They are determining whether or not any violation tickets would be appropriate in this situation.”
Shelkie couldn’t say where the semi-truck was from or where it was going.
