It’s still unclear if Jim Lightbody will eventually be back in the top job at the BC Lottery Corporation in Kamloops.
Interim CEO Greg Moore says that Lightbody has been giving updates to staff at BCLC, and says he’s doing well despite his cancer diagnosis.
“Challenge of his life right? And he’s battling it with everything he has. He’s doing good in spite of everything, and of course we at BCLC want to make sure Jim has a healthy recovery and can come back stronger,” Moore says.
“Jim is on health leave, and so I’m here as the interim president and CEO until Jim makes a decision about coming back, or what his future looks like. So we’re not actually out looking for a CEO. We’re in this position until Jim decides what he’s going to do as he moves forward.”
Lightbody went on leave 10 months ago to start receiving cancer treatments.
