B.C.’s health officer says there are now 27 people with COVID-19 linked to exposure events in downtown Kelowna, more than double since the 13 cases reported as of yesterday.
That includes 18 people in the Interior, and nine others in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health Authorities.
“If you have been at one of the locations within the community exposure events, you do need to monitor carefully for symptoms, limit your contact with others through the incubation period and contact 811 if you have any symptoms to arrange for testing,” Henry said on Thursday.
Henry, and Health Minister Adrian Dix made announced 21 new cases of the virus today – 18 test positive and three epi-linked – seven of which were in the Interior, which now has had 223 cases. Provincewide there have been 3,170 cases of the virus.
There are now four cases linked to an outbreak at the Krazy Cherry Farm in Oliver, but no new community or healthcare system outbreaks in the province.
There were also no new deaths to report for the third straight day, with the provincial death toll remaining at 189.
The number of active cases has dropped below 200 again to 192 cases. There are 15 people are in hospital across the province, three of whom are currently in ICU.
