Two months after resuming service in a reduced capacity on June 4, Ebus is returning to daily service in Kamloops and other parts of B.C. that it serves, starting next Monday, August 17.
“Local travel between urban centres is necessary for people to access medical appointments, employment, educational, training, and many other essential services,” said John Stepovy, the company’s Director of Business Development.
“Since we continue to exercise social distancing on board as part of our Safely Clean program and are not travelling with full coaches, we need to offer more schedules to accommodate the travel needs of the province.”
Masks were made mandatory on board, and buses were operating with a maximum of 25 people on board. Stepovy previously told NL News that fares in B.C. were fully refundable so that people could change or cancel their trip, if needed.
“We’re very proud of the work we’ve done during the COVID Crisis,” Matthew Cox, Ebus’ Vice President of Motorcoach noted, in a statement.
“From suspending our operations early enough to make a difference in protecting our staff, passengers, and the communities in which we operate, to developing new health and safety processes, to systematically scaling our re-opening to effectively provide safe travel conditions for everyone.”
