The British Columbia Lottery Corporation has appointed another interim president and CEO as Jim Lightbody continues to undergo cancer treatment and recovery.
Lynda Cavanaugh will take over from Greg Moore on Jan. 22, after he resigned as interim president and CEO, to take on a new role in the private sector.
In a statement, BCLC says Cavanaugh has a long history in the public service, including having served as Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministries of the Attorney General as well as Public Safety and Solicitor General from 2011 to 2020.
“Cavanaugh managed and led complex organizations that provided important services to communities across the province,” the statement said. “She brings vast experience in leadership, finance, technology, infrastructure and policy.”
BCLC says given the temporary nature of the role, and due to the impacts of COVID-19, Cavanaugh will be based from her home in Sidney on Vancouver Island, noting she will travel to offices in Kamloops and Vancouver when it is safe to do so.
The lottery corporation says Moore will now leave his role on Jan. 22, instead of the previously announced Jan. 15.
