A pair of Kamloops elementary schools are reporting COVID-19 exposures.
There was an exposure at Juniper Ridge Elementary on Tuesday and Wednesday last week, Feb. 2 and 3, while the exposure at Lloyd George Elementary was on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 3 and 4.
It is the first exposure event at Lloyd George and the second at Juniper Ridge after an exposure in January, which is no longer considered active.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not at risk of developing COVID-19. If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
There are now nine Kamloops schools with an active COVID-19 exposure – eight within the Kamloops-Thompson School District as well as the private St. Ann’s Academy.
Sa-Hali Secondary remains the most concerning at present with 16 cases at the school – thirteen among students and three among staff members.
Other SD73 schools with active exposures are Westsyde Secondary, Arthur Stevenson Elementary, the Twin Rivers Education Centre, Valleyview Secondary, and David Thompson Elementary.
After 14 days without any further cases, exposures are no longer considered active by Interior Health.
