
A COVID-19 exposure has been reported at South Kam Secondary School for the past seven school days.
According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, the exposure happened on February 4th and 5th and for all of last week, from February 8th to 12th.
It’s not clear how many cases are tied to this exposure.
In any school exposure event, contact tracers with Interior Health will call directly those who were exposed and need to self-isolate.
As of this morning, there were five active exposure events in Kamloops schools: at Sa-Hali, Valleyview and now South Kam secondary schools, as well as Lloyd George and Juniper Ridge elementaries.
Earlier this month at one point there were active outbreaks at 10 Kamloops schools.
The most significant school exposure has been at Sa-Hali Secondary, where four out of every students were self isolating at home at one point. As of last week, about half of students were back in class as normal.
