
A significant drop in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Kamloops area last week, according to new data from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
There were 42 cases in the Kamloops Local Health Area between March 7 and 13. That comes after 100 cases during the week of February 28 to March 6, and 124 the week before that.
The Kamloops LHA includes the City of Kamloops as well as Barriere, Sun Peaks, Little Fort, Chase, Tobiano, Savona, and Logan Lake.
There were also 15 new cases in the Merritt local health area, nine in the Salmon Arm LHA, and 88 in the Kelowna area, which had the most cases in Interior Health last week.
There were also two new cases in the North Thompson, 100 Mile, and Cariboo/Chilcotin local health areas. No new cases were reported in the South Cariboo and Lillooet local health areas.
The greatest spread per capita last week was in Surrey, the Agassiz/Harrison Hot Springs area, and the Prince Rupert, Bella Coola, and Haida Gwaii areas.
