As more people get vaccinated against COVID-19, the number of cases in the Kamloops Local Health Area continues to drop.
There were just 15 cases in the area which includes Kamloops, Sun Peaks, Chase, Barriere, Little Fort, Savona, Tobiano and Logan Lake, and the communities in between during the week of May 30 and June 5 – the fifth straight week where new COVID-19 cases have dropped.
It comes after 20 new cases in the Kamloops LHA between the week of May 23 to May 29.
Most of the new cases in the Interior are in the Kelowna area (with reported 115 new cases last week) and the Vernon area (which reported 42 cases). The Grand Forks area also saw a spike to 11 cases, after just one the week before.
Elsewhere, there were three cases each in the Salmon Arm and Cariboo/Chilcotin area, and six in the Armstrong area.
There were no new cases reported in Merritt, the North Thompson, 100 Mile House, South Cariboo, and Lillooet area last week.
