UPDATE:
Evacuation orders and alerts are changing fast and furious this evening because of the White Rock Lake wildfire.
The City of Kamloops has now had to issue evacuation alerts for Campbell Creek, Barnhartvale and Dallas Thursday evening because of the White Rock Lake wildfire.
The alert affects 2,567 homes. A 43-page list of affected addresses can be found here.
The new alert from the city comes as the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued now two evacuation orders, as of 10:45 p.m., for 676 properties to the south and east of Kamloops city limits, as well as an evacuation alert for 117 properties immediately south.
The first order covers 303 properties from Roche Lake Provincial Park and parts of Robbins Range Road and Scuitto Lake Forest Service Road in the west, further east to Pillar Lake, Martin Prairie Road and other areas.
The second order covers Pritchard, Chase Creek and China Valley.
The TNRD website is dealing with technical issues from volume, but people still use the evacuation status map without issue, and it can be found here.
This comes as the White Rock Lake wildfire has seen substantial growth tonight from gusting winds, which have pushed the fire north and east. The blaze has destroyed many structures in Monte Lake and Paxton Valley this evening.
