The Village of Chase has issued an evacuation alert because of the White Rock Lake fire.
Mayor Rod Crowe says it is not an order for people to leave their homes, but he notes the threat posed by both the fire, smoke, fumes, and risk of explosion have created a potential threat to homes, livestock, and structures in the area.
People are being told to plan what they will do in the event of an evacuation order. They’re also being told to pack essential items and an emergency kit.
