Friends of missing Kamloops woman Shannon White have set up a GoFundMe looking to raise about $10,000.
Organizer Angela Hulsman says they are hoping to use raise the money for a number of reasons.
“First and foremost, we’d like to allocate funds towards advertising. We would like to have ads placed on all local news sites showing Shannon’s picture and information,” she said. “Depending on funds we may even be able to go as far as obtaining billboard space.”
“Secondly, it’s important to us that we do everything to support her family at this time. Helping with her fathers travelling expenses and support to pay for Shannon’s rent.”
Hulsman also says they want to be able to help police “should they have a directive for us as a collective group.”
“Any available funding could really help in these efforts,” she said.
White has been missing for over a week, and the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is also involved in the investigation.
“She is still missing and we are still asking the public for help,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn told NL News Monday morning, Nov. 8.
As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the GoFundMe had raised $2,600.
