The City of Kamloops and BC Transit have announced expanded bus service on existing routes, which is set begin in the new year on Jan. 2.
It will mean bus service every 15 minutes during peak times and every 30 minutes during non-peaks times on weekdays on the number 1 Tranquille, 7 Aberdeen, and 9 Gleneagles.
BC Transit says service is also increasing on these routes in the early morning and late evening.
There will also be “improvements” to bus service on Saturdays and Sundays on routes 1, 7, and 9 with “minor adjustments” being made to weekday and weekend schedules on all routes to better serve the community.
BC Transit also says weekday bus trips have also been extended to route 4 Pacific Way.
“These service changes are being implemented based on recommendations contained in the Kamloops Transit Future Action Plan,” it said, in a statement. “Detailed ridership analysis was completed to better match service to customer demand.”
