It is the end of the line for Kamloops pipeline worker Cameron Whitcomb.
His American Idol dream came to an end Monday night, as he was did not make the Top-14 on the Season 20 of the long running reality show.
The Top-10 made it through with viewer votes with another four then saved by the judges after performing another song. While Canadians have been allowed to compete for the last two seasons, voting is limited to the people in the United States and its territories.
In a bid to extend his stay on the competition, Whitcomb performed The SteelDrivers, If It Hadn’t Been For Love, but he ultimately was not one of the four people saved by judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
The 18-year-old was the first Canadian man to make it into the Top 20 on American Idol on Sunday.
“I started with a backflip and it ends with a backflip. Thank you so much [for[ all the support throughout my time on American Idol,” he said on his Instagram account following the show. “I met my best friend (AVA!) and got to sing some amazing songs. THANK YOU! You haven’t heard the last of me yet.”
“You have all changed my life.”
