A memorial is set to take place on May 23, in commemoration of the suspected grave sites of 215 children found at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School last year.
The Missing Memorial is set for Monday, May 23 at the Tk’emlúps Pow Wow Arbour, and will start at 5 am with a sunrise ceremony, and end at 7 pm with a closing prayer.
The memorial will also include hand drumming, jingle dress dancing, a healing dance, words of reconciliation and more.
Hand Drummers, Pipe Carriers, Jingle Dress Dancers and Tiny Tots are invited to take part in the ceremony.
The event will be open to the public, and is designed to help honour, mourn, and remember the 215 missing children, whose suspected grave sites were revealed to the public in May of last year.
Cultural Supports and Mental Health Wellness Clinical Supports will be available on site.
The event is drug and alcohol free.
