Imperial Oil has confirmed to NL News there is a fuel shortage in the area due to an ethanol shortage at the Suncor Kamloops Terminal.
Company spokesperson Keri Scobie says the shortages have impacted the fuel supplies in Kamloops, as well as other parts of the province.
Although some stations have begun to receive gasoline shipments, Scobie explained inventories are not expected to return to normal until the first week of July.
“Our ethanol supply chain has improved over the past few days and deliveries restarted from the terminal yesterday. Our current supply outlook is that inventories will be back to regular levels early to mid-next week.”
An employee at the Mobil gas station on Paul Lake road told NL News they had no regular and mid-grade fuel for a short period of time, however, after receiving a fuel shipment Monday, pumps have opened back up there.
As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, another employee at the Esso on West Columbia Street told NL News there is no regular fuel at their pumps.
