Kamloops native Logan Stankoven will play for a Memorial Cup title with his hometown team next year.
The Dallas Stars announced Sunday that they were sending the 19-year-old Kamloopsian back to the Blazers for the 2022-23 WHL season.
In four pre-season games with the Stars, Stankoven recorded one assist in a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues back on Oct. 1.
Stankoven, who is the reigning CHL Player of the Year, put up 104 points (45 goals, 59 assists) in 59 games with the Blazers last season.
He also won gold with Team Canada at the 2022 World Juniors in Edmonton, recording four goals and six assists – one of which was on the tournament winning goal.
Matthew Seminoff, Daylan Kuefler, Caedan Bankier, and Kyle Masters have all reported back to the Blazers after NHL training camps.
Fraser Minten is also expected back soon though the Toronto Maple Leafs prospect picked up an injury in his lone pre-season outing.
The Blazers play a pair of games in the United States next weekend, in Tri-City on Oct. 14 and in Portland on Oct. 15.
Their next home game is on Oct. 18 against Brandon.
