Kamloopsians heading to and from the polling station on Saturday can use the BC Transit system for free.
BC Transit Spokesperson Jamie Weiss says they partnered with the City of Kamloops to help make it easier for voters to cast their ballots on October 15.
“You don’t even have to be voting; this is just an opportunity for free transit. So no matter what you are doing on Saturday. Whether you are doing some shopping, going to and from your weekend job, or going to the polling station, free transit is provided for everybody in the Kamloops transit system.
Weiss adds it also includes the Handy Dart bus services as well.
“Those customers who cannot utilize conventional service and really rely on that door-to-door, hands-on service that Handy Dart provides them will also have access to free transit this coming Saturday.”
Additionally, Weiss says buses will be running from 6 am through till after midnight on election day.
“Busses will be running on a regular Saturday schedule, meaning busses will be running for the entirety of the polling and long before it’s open and long after its closed.”
