Two Kamloops Blazers have made NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Forward Connor Levis is ranked 60th among North American skaters, while Dylan Ernst is 15th among North American goaltenders.
Levis has put up 33 points (10 goals and 23 assists) in 37 games this season, while Ernst – who leads the WHL with 22 wins – has a 22-6-3 record and a 0.918 save percentage and a 2.38 goals against average in 32 games.
Both Levis and Ernst were included in the preliminary players to watch list that was released last October. Levis was given a B-rating, indicating a second-or-third-round pick while Ernst was a ‘C’ rating, indicating a potential fourth, fifth, or sixth round pick.
Kamloops native Sawyer Mynio, a defenceman who plays for the Seattle Thunderbirds, is ranked 111th among North American skaters, while Saskatoon Blades defenceman Tanner Molendyk, who is from McBride but lives in Kamloops, is ranked 36th.
Former Blazer Kaden Hammell – who was traded to Everett in the Olen Zellweger deal – is ranked 95th among North American skaters.
No surprises who the consensus first overall pick is, one Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats.
The 2023 NHL Draft is scheduled to be held on June 28 and 29 in Nashville.
