Kamloops Blazers forward Caedan Bankier has signed a three-year NHL entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild.
The 20-year-old Surrey native was drafted by the Wild in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Bankier has put up a career high 62 points (30 goals and 32 assists) in 44 games with the Blazers this season, putting him second on the team in goals scored, fourth in points, and fifth in assists.
In 189 games over four seasons with the Blazers, the six-foot-two Bankier has 165 points (69 goals and 96 assists) to his name. He also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2023 World Juniors, putting up one assist and a plus-3 rating in seven games.
News of Bankier signing with the Wild came just hours after Ryan Hofer signed a three-year NHL entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals.
So with Hofer and now Bankier signing announcements today, that is now five current Blazers under NHL contract. #Kamloops
