Today marks the ninth annual Radiothon on Radio NL for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.
Our day is dedicated to helping raise money for the foundation that in turn goes straight into the hospital.
We’ll be hearing from former patients, front line workers and members of the RIH Foundation.
Radiothon’s main sponsor, again this year, is Sun Country Toyota and Rob Splane was on the NL Morning News and said it’s the hospital staff that makes the difference.
“It’s a wonderful facility because of the people there. They just pour their hearts and souls into their work there and helping people in the community,” said Splane. “All you need to do is step foot in RIH and you get a sense of, this is our hospital.”
He says that dedicated staff needs state of the art equipment to keep up.
“When you look at things like that tower going up and that spectacular facility that is there, you realize there’s so much more to it than that though,” suggests Splane. “We need to equip all of those people that spend their whole day pouring themselves into our care, we need to equip them, we need to give them the best things we can give them.”
You can donate by calling 250-851-8821, text “RIH” to 30333 to give $20.00 or make a secure online donation by going to their website
Radiothon runs until 6:00 this evening.
