RCMP in Kamloops say the body of a woman tentatively identified as Jo-Anne Donovan was found near her Westsyde home on Wednesday, March 22, nine days after she was last seen on March 13.
Police will not say where the body was found, though they note the autopsy to confirm her identity is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 28.
RCMP Corporal Dave Marshall says police have completed an extensive forensic search of Jo-Anne’s house, noting police will be stationed outside until the autopsy is completed.
Marshall says Donovan was known mostly to frequent the North Shore and Brocklehurst areas of Kamloops, though she also enjoyed to go on walks around the areas near McArthur Island Park, Kamloops Airport, and Tranquille Farms.
“Police are also seeking to talk with anyone who recently spoke with Jo-Anne or visited her residence,” Marshall said. “For anyone who recently visited with or spoke to Jo-Anne that has not already been contacted by the police, we are requesting that you also call the Kamloops RCMP.
Marshall is also asking anyone people who may have seen Donovan or her grey Chevrolet Impala to contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000.
