It’s that time of year again as tickets for the Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery are now on sale.
The 2023 Dream Home is located at 2197 Coldwater Drive in Juniper Ridge, with tickets on sale for $100 each or in groups of five for $400.
“It is a stunning home,” Kamloops Y spokesperson Bryce Herman said “It’s got a two storey view of the back, its grade level of the front but its on the green belt in front of it, so that view should be protected for eternity. It really is a fantastic spot and a beautiful valued home, at $1.3 million, all 2,400 square feet of it.”
This is is the 33rd year of the partnership between the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior (CHBA-CI) and Thompson Rivers University, and the 27th year of the partnership with the Kamloops Y.
“TRU’s building trades students are directly engaged in the construction of the Training House, taking the knowledge gained in the classroom and learning to apply it in the real world,” a CHBA CI statement said.
“The students’ experience on the work site goes beyond practical application of classroom knowledge. They also learn there’s more to a construction site than building.”
In addition to the house, there are several other prizes to be won, including two early bird draws on May 11 and June 12.
There is also a 50/50 that has the potential of going up to $2 million with half going to one lucky winner, with tickets being sold in groups of three, eight, and 20.
The deadline to buy tickets is Monday, June 19, with the grand prize draw taking place at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28.
“Each year there is only one person publicly declared the winner of the Dream Home. Behind the scenes there are hundreds of winners. All because they built a house,” the CHBA statement added.
