The RCMP Musical Ride will be making a stop at the Kamloops Agri-Centre on June 22 this year.
It is being organized by the Rotary Club of Kamloops Aurora Centennial.
Rotary Committee Member Aaron Krausert tells NL News it will be the first Musical Ride in Kamloops since 2017.
“During the pandemic obviously they weren’t going the ride but we’ve been applying almost every year since,” he said. “It was a hugely successful event in 2017. There were two sold out shows and we’re doing two shows again this year. 3 o’clock and 6:30 are the shows. About $20 a ticket.”
Krausert says there will also be pre-show performances by Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc dancers along with a K9 dog demonstration.
“There will be food trucks. It’s going to be a festival fun environment with 32 beautiful horses,” Krausert said. “Everything choreographed to music. Just a great Canadiana family experience.”
He says Rotary is hoping to raise $100,000 to put towards a number of local initiatives including the RIH Patient Care Tower, the McQueen Lake Indigenous Education Project, and a TRU student bursary.
People are being encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to allow for more seating options at the Agri-Centre.
