Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a suspect who they say might be responsible for a fire outside the North Shore Canadian Tire over the weekend.
Corporal Crystal Evelyn says police were called to the 900-block of 8th Street around 6:50 a.m. Sunday, April 23. She says Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews were extinguishing a blaze that damaged a rear door to the Canadian Tire.
“Security footage obtained as part of the investigation shows a suspect on a green and yellow mountain bike with a blue blanket draped over it, wearing a grey hoodie, bluish pants, and a cast or bandage wrapped around their right forearm,” Evelyn said.
“The suspect, believed to be male, departed southbound on 8th Street.”
Evelyn says remnants of a burnt tire was found at the scene of the fire.
People who witnessed the fire or have information about the suspect are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-13849.
