A loss in the local political scene in the region.

TNRD Chair Barbara Roden confirming the former Mayor of Lytton, Chris O’Connor has passed away.

“Chris’ passion and his dedication to his community were admirable. The Thompson Nicola Regional District sends our condolences to the Village of Lytton and our deepest sympathies to Denise and their family. We wish you all-strength at this difficult time.”

Chris O’Connor — husband of current Lytton Mayor Denise O’Connor — served as Mayor from 1992 to 2008.

Before that, O’Connor spent 7 years on Lytton council.

He also served three terms on the TNRD board.
