Another campfire ban is on the way toward the end of this week.
The BC Wildfire Service has announced the ban throughout the Kamloops Fire Center — effective noon on Friday.
Aydan Coray is with the Wildfire Service says they look at a lot of different variables in making their decision.
“This one in particular, we are looking at the forecasted and current conditions we’re seeing across the Fire Center,” said Coray. “Through the Kamloops, Vernon and Penticton Zones, in particular, we are seeing a high to extreme Fire Danger Rating.”
This is the 2nd time the BC Wildfire Service has implemented a campfire ban in the Kamloops Fire Center this season.
The last one was put in-place on June 8th, but then rescinded a week later on the 15th.
