Make it two Mintens on the Kamloops Blazers roster.
Bryce Minten, the younger brother of Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, Fraser Minten, has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Kamloops Blazers.
The 2006-born Bryce had 13 points (four goals and nine assists) in 26 games for the Shawnigan Lake School U18 Prep team in the 2022-23 season. He also had 30 points (15 goals and 15 assists) in 27 games for Shawnigan Lake School U17 Prep team during the 2021-22 season.
“We would like to welcome Bryce to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” Blazers Head Coach and General Manager, Shaun Clouston, said.
“Bryce had a strong training camp and we look forward to being part of his development over the coming seasons.”
The 17-year-old Vancouver native was a seventh round pick of the Blazers in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
Bryce Minten will make his debut this weekend when the Blazers play a pair of preseason games against the Kelowna Rockets – in Kamloops on Friday and in Kelowna on Saturday.
The elder Minten, a fourth round pick of the Blazers in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft, put pen to paper in Jan. 2020 after a long recruitment process. Heading into his 19 year old WHL season, he’ll be taking on a leadership role during the 2023-24 season.
