Kamloops Blazers defenceman Harrison Brunicke has cracked NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary players to watch list for the 2024 Draft.
The 17-year-old Calgary native earned a C rating, indicating a possible fourth or fifth round draft pick next June.
Brunicke has a goal and an assist in 12 games for the Blazers this season. Last year, he put up eight points (four goals and four assists) in 59 points as a 16-year-old.
Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla, son of Blazers legend Jarome Iginla, is also on the list with a B rating – indicating a possible second or third round pick.
The Lake Country native – who was traded by Seattle to Kelowna this summer – has 19 points (12 goals and seven assists) in 11 games this season.
Also on the list released Wednesday are Merritt twins Jaxsin and Corbin Vaughn. The two Regina Pats earned W ratings, indicating a sixth or seventh round pick.
Jaxsin, a forward, has four assists in 12 games, while Corbin, a defenceman, has two goals and two assists in 13 games.
The 2024 NHL Entry Draft is expected to be held in June 2024 in Las Vegas.
