Friends and family of missing Kamloops woman Shannon White have announced plans for another gathering next week to raise awareness of her disappearance.
“Obviously we would love to have her home. We’re all looking for some sort of closure,” friend Angela Hulsman told Radio NL. “But right now the biggest thing is just to bring awareness and remind people, because she has kind of fallen out of the spotlight. But she is still here, and still in our thoughts.”
Hulsman says Light Up for Shannon White will start at the Aberdeen Mall next Wednesday to mark the 2-year anniversary of her going missing.
“We’re meeting up there at 6:30 by The Bay parking lot,” said Hulsman. “For those that have done the Kiwanis Toy Run before, we’re kind of just do the same as that.”
She says the tour will take them throughout various parts of the city in a bid to draw attention to her case.
“We’re not going to stop until she is found. And to raise awareness of the fact she’s not just the only person missing,” said Hulsman. “There’s a lot of people out there looking to bring family members home. We’re out there doing our best to try to make that happen.”
Shannon White was last seen leaving her home in Lower Sahali on November 1st of 2021, with her vehicle found abandoned downtown a day later.
Thus far RCMP have not revealed many details into its investigation into her disappearance, other than to say they are treating her case as suspicious.
