Dylan Sydor scored in his fourth game in a row, but the Kamloops Blazers were unable to end a end a three-game weekend with a perfect record, falling 4-3 to the Vancouver Giants Sunday afternoon.
The loss – which snapped a season high two-game win streak – moves the Blazers to a 3-10-2 record, while the Giants improve to 5-6-1.
Julian Cull’s first period goal was the difference between the BC Division rivals, who were playing the second of eight games this season.
The Blazers responded with a pair of goals 79 seconds apart in the second to given them the 2-1 lead. Sydor struck first on the power play – his team leading tenth of the season – before Emmitt Finnie gave the Blazers their first lead of the night.

The Giants fought back in the period, as goals from Jaden Lipinski and Justin Ivanusec had them up 3-2 after 40 minutes of hockey from the Langley Events Centre.
Max Sullivan’s first career WHL goal tied things back up early in the third, though the Giants regained the lead though a Colton Roberts power play goal and never looked back.

Jesse Sanche made 26 saves on 30 shots in a losing effort, while Matthew Hutchison stopped 31 of 34 shots to take the win.
Next up for the Blazers is a home game against the Red Deer Rebels Friday night, Nov. 3, a game that could see Fraser Minten make his season debut.
It’ll also be the return of former defenceman Mats Lindgren, who was traded to the Rebels for Kyle Masters last summer.
